Course synopsis:
This course is aligned with the guidelines of TCOLE course #3322 and trains students in the skills necessary to teach that course and develop additional rifle training. It by focuses on instructional skills and developing shooting skills in patrol rifle operators. It places all students into a coach/student model to teach and evaluate rifle deployment in a patrol context, target engagement at multiple distances, and individual movement. Completing this course significantly enhances an officer’s ability to instruct others to operate a patrol rifle under various tactical scenarios. This course helps create the cadre needed to attain and maintain rifle proficiency in an organization.
Prerequisites:
Participants enrolling in this course must complete the following courses prior to attendance:
- Basic Instructor (TCOLE #1014)
- Firearms Instructor (TCOLE #2222)
- Patrol Rifle Operator (TCOLE #3322)
Course Details Audience: Patrol Officer/Tactical Officer
Students: Maximum: 10
Uniform:
Police Soft uniform (BDU style pants/Polo style shirt) or issued duty uniform
- Boots or Hiking/Athletic shoes
- Ball Cap
- Weather gear as necessary for cold/wet weather
Equipment List:
AR-style rifle with tactical sling and five (5) 30-round magazines.
- Red Dot optional.
- Iron sights required. (Magpul Backup Sights (MBUS)/equivalent or as they come with the rifle
Duty Handgun with standard issue of magazines (3 minimum)
Duty Belt or Load bearing vest as applicable
- 700 Rounds of Ball Rifle ammo. (No Steel Case)
- 300 Rounds of Ball Handgun ammo. (No Steel Case)
