Law enforcement officers, military members, and security personnel have a wide range of tools and techniques to help them do their jobs safely and effectively. Controlled F.O.R.C.E.’s MACH 5.0 program is one such tool that can provide crucial training in body movement and positioning, takedowns, handcuff positioning, team arrest tactics, and baton subject control. Let’s take a closer look at the MACH 5.0 tactics.
Body Movement & Positioning MACH 5.0 Tactics
The MACH 5.0 system includes drills focusing on body movement and positioning to help reduce risks associated with a dynamic arrest or combat scenario. The tactics are designed to increase the ability to move the body quickly, efficiently, and accurately during dynamic encounters while maintaining proper distance control between them and their subject. This is especially important in high-stress situations where split-second decisions must be made.
Takedowns
The MACH 5.0 system offers drills for takedowns from standing and prone positions to give officers, troops, or security personnel the skills to subdue subjects safely without using excessive force or causing injury. It also includes training on how best to use a cover when making contact with subjects and techniques for controlling subjects after they have been taken down so that they can be restrained appropriately and safely without further injury or harm caused by either party.
Handcuff Positioning
The MACH 5.0 courses provide instruction on proper handcuff positioning so that law enforcement and security officers can safely restrain subjects while minimizing the risk of injury or harm caused by improper cuffing technique or pressure points being applied too aggressively against a subject’s wrists or arms during cuffing procedure. This instruction aims to ensure that officers can establish control over the subject effectively yet humanely while minimizing any potential liability associated with improper cuffing procedures.
Team Arrest Tactics
Team arrest tactics are also covered in the MACH 5.0 Level 1-3 courses, which will train law enforcement officers to coordinate multiple personnel during dynamic arrests and execute team takedowns when necessary. Additionally, this portion of the course covers topics such as communication protocols between personnel, establishing secure perimeters around the scene of an arrest, and managing crowd control situations when applicable. This ensures that all parties involved can remain safe throughout the process of making an arrest effective without unnecessary escalation due to poor coordination between personnel or miscommunication amongst all parties involved in the encounter.
Batons Subject Control
Another critical component of training with the MACH 5.0 program focuses on baton subject control which will teach officers how best to utilize batons as a means of safely subduing noncompliant subjects without causing undue harm or injury through improper use.
