President Biden Weighs-in on Police Funding During State of the Union
President Biden issued his first State of the Union Address last month. In his remarks, the president pushed back against the “defund the police” movement arguing the answer is not to defund the police, but rather put more police in our communities – with better training and more accountability. The president also stated his plans to commit $200M for community violence interventions, $300M for DOJ community policing grants.
At Controlled F.O.R.C.E., we believe rather than defunding police, we need to give officers the knowledge, skills, and ability needed to operate with control, confidence, and preparation for any contingency that may arise.
We know police officers are often the First Official Response in a Critical Environment. Properly trained officers respond better in these critical moments. They’re able to keep their communities safe, while also protecting themselves, de-escalating situations, and decreasing violent crime.
And, all of this can help improve police accountability.
Each member of Controlled F.O.R.C.E.’s training cadre possesses extensive law enforcement or military background. Our instructors have operated in the field, and understand the challenges your officers face every day. We’re proud to serve law enforcement agencies across the United States. Our training is POST / State approved in 28 states.
Exceptional Law Enforcement Training
The prospect of additional federal funding for law enforcement training is now on the table. Give your officers the tools they need to carry out their vital tasks in the most effective manner (instead of dealing with the fallout of an ill-equipped police force unable to handle complex situations).
This is the perfect time to explore giving your officers the training they need and deserve. Controlled F.O.R.C.E law enforcement training courses in the following:
Reactionary Defense
This Level 2 course teaches personnel how to survive a surprise attack and then transition to control tactics. The system builds upon the basic principles of body movement and positioning learned in the Mechanical Advantage Subject Control Course.
Mechanical Advantage Control Holds (M.A.C.H.™)
Controlled F.O.R.C.E. is the developer and sole source provider of the Mechanical Advantage Control Holds (M.A.C.H.™) 5.0 System. The M.A.C.H. System is a series of five techniques that uses positioning, movement, body momentum, and resistance to control a subject. Because the system emphasizes Mechanical Advantage over pressure points or pain compliance, the techniques work on any subject regardless of size, strength, skill, psychological state, or level of intoxication or chemical influence.
Countermeasures
This Level 3 training program has been designed to flow between Mechanical Advantage Subject Control and Reactionary Defense Training and back again as the Use of Force requirements escalate and de-escalate throughout any given situation.
Operator Response Course
The Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Operator Response Course is designed to ensure personal and team proficiency in Close Quarter Combat (CQC), Small Team Tactics (STT), Weapons Proficiency Training (WPT), and Close Quarter Situations (CQS).
Basic Self-Defense for Corrections Support Staff
Combines Verbal De-Escalation and Basic Self-Defense Techniques into a comprehensive program to identify and prevent potential violence, giving staff members the confidence to maintain a safe environment.
De-Escalation
This training has been designed with streamlined specifications encouraging the course participant to critically think and constantly reevaluate the circumstances that have contributed to incidents of crisis, disruption or unacceptable behaviors.
